Tithing Is More Than Giving
The word "tithe" literally means tenth or 10%. Tithing, or giving ten percent of your income, isn't merely giving something to God. It's giving back what was his to begin with. All that we have, or hope to have, comes from him. The Bible says that tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything. It teaches us to always put God first in our lives.
In Malachi 3:10, God says "Go ahead. I dare you. See if you can out-give me." Beyond your tithe is a chance for you to be extravagantly generous. You can give additional gifts to the General Fund, to a mission such as Lottie Moon or Annie Armstrong, our Food Pantry, the Benevolence Fund, and more. So go ahead, test and experience God's generosity!
We are pleased to offer you several convenient methods for giving your tithes and offerings online, as well as other contributions:
Option 1: Online Giving
Online Giving is available for one-time gifts or for scheduled, recurring contributions. Whether you’d like to give a single gift or schedule ongoing donations, you can do it all online. It’s quick, easy and secure. You can give your tithe here as well as your gifts.
First Baptist Church has selected PayPal, the world's leading payment processor, to provide safe and secure donation processing. By clicking on the "Donate" button below, you may give a one-time gift or set up your tithe, designated gift, or other contributions. It’s quick, easy and secure.
You do not need a PayPal account in order to give. Please include your complete Name and Address if you are not a member and want this donation to be included in a year-end giving statement. Your donation will go into our general fund unless you include instructions, in which case, we will do our best to see that it is applied according to your wishes.
Again, Thank You for Your Generous Gift!
Option 2: Personal Online Banking (Preferred Method)
AVAILABLE NOW!!
If you are one of our many members that use online banking, you have the option to make your tithe and offerings through your bank’s online bill payment service*. Indicate “First Baptist Church” as the Payee, specify your name as the account, and use the following information for the Payee Address:
First Baptist Church/Giving
501 Glenburn Ave
Cambridge, MD 21613
Your bank will send First Baptist Church a check and it will be recorded in your contribution records just as if you had written it yourself. Please use the Memo or Note field to designate the gift when contributing to a mission or ministry other than the General Fund (i.e. Lottie Moon, Benevolence, etc.)
Most banks support recurring payments enabling you to setup your regular tithe once and have your bank take care of the rest. Please ensure the payee or address includes “Giving” so that your check goes directly to Andy to be recorded. Your tithe and offerings will remain, as always, confidential.
Please see Richard or Andy if you have questions.
Notes
* Available only if your bank or financial institution offers online bill payment service.
